Error Dialog. This book has been returned. Loan not on record

Question

I am getting this message after I have transfered a book to Nook and when I am trying to open it.  This happens even though I have not returned the book and can still read it in Adobe Digital Editions in my PC.  Any suggestions?

There has been some previous discussion about this error so this is not a new problem. Some people say it only happens on the books they have on "hold" at the library but I find it happens for every two books out of three whether they were on hold or not. When you download the books, you can open them in ADE on your computer but not on your nook even though it says it was transferred.

It's very frustrating when the main reason I purchased a nook (and upgraded to a 2nd) was for downloading library books!
