Error message

I am getting an Error message -- Protected by digital rights management, when I try to open a book downloaded onto my computer and copied onto my Sony Ereader. I have tried authorizing my computer  but have been getting an Activation server error mesage. I can only read the books now on my computer, but I prefer to read them on my ereader!
