Error message: Application not found

I'm a librarian who is trying to help one of my patrons. They have used ADE for library books before, but now are getting the 'Application not found' message when trying to download books from the library onto ADE. They have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have followed OverDrive's instructions to make sure that the file type is associated with ADE. Any suggestions?
