Error message downloading books?

I have recently purchased an ebook from GooglePlay, and can't download it. I got the following error message: unable to download, error getting license, server communication problem, e stream error. Have searched various forums with no joy. Contacted Google Play, and they said it was an Adobe reader problem. I am using a PC, Windows 7. Have bought and downloaded many books before, with no problems. Any suggestions???
