Updated BIOS on computer.

Unable to read / open purchased books of Digital Editions 2.0

Recently updated to  Digital Editions 4.0

receive error message E_ADEPT_INTERNAL

Provide procedure for being able to read books with Digital Editions 4.0

    I just updated my adobe digital editions to 4 onto my new windows 8 laptop and got the same error message. I have authorized, unauthorized and reauthorized my computer several times and still get the error message.  I have another laptop with adobe digital editions 2 that has the book and I had no trouble downloading the book and reading the book.
