error message E_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS how do I reactivate ADE?

I had trouble with downloading books from the local library, thought I was doing something wrong so I uninstalled ADE then re-installed, messed it up so repeated the process a couple of times ti make sure I was doing it right, now when I go to load the book from the library it said that I had too many adeactivations, so I followed the http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/activate and that downloaded but I still cannot load my book.  What should I do?
