Error trying to open in Digital Editions (again)

Once again I'm having problems opening a newly borrowed library book using Digital Editions. Last time I upgraded to the newest version of Digital Editions, etc. and eventually it worked. Now I'm getting server connection errors again. The error is:  Error getting license, License Server Communication Problem, E_ACT_NOT_READY. The help section is not at all helpful. It says check that I have internet connection...I just downloaded from my library so, not a problem. Says then to try again as that usually resolves the problem. Not at all! Still getting the error.

I miss the days when I could borrow a library book directly from my Sony wifi e-reader, return it, etc.

Any assistance from those out there would be greatly appreciated.

    I had the same problem.  Trying to solve it without assistance, I upgraded my Digital Editions from Version 2.?.? to Version 4.5.3.162045.  Now I have a  different error message!  "Error! Check activation."  Is this progress?

    As my problem may now be different, I'll start a new thread.  Good luck.
