Getting a full page view - selecting PDF

Using Adobe digital Editions to read but the bottom of the page does not show up.  Getting no response from PDF commands re: page width & page view options and when I select PDF - fit to page nothing happens.  How to switch to E-pub view from PDF  or back again.  Thanks. Oly
