Have an Adobe ID but no password

I just installed Adobe Digital Editions, and it wants me to authorize my computer using my Adobe ID and password. While I do have an Adobe ID, I do not have a password.

When I try to log in to Adobe, I get redirected to my institution's central authentication service, meaning I log in to Adobe through my institution. I never created a password, and it's not possible to change or find a password for my account. My institution does not support Adobe Digital Editions, so they can't help me on this problem.

How should I proceed?
