Help!! Windows System Restore -- What happened to my Bookshelf?

I recently downloaded Adobe Digital Editions and used it to read and study a book for a class. I made many notes and highlights within the book. Unfortunately, my computer crashed and I had to restore it to a point prior to my download of Digital Editions. When I downloaded a fresh version of Digital Editions, my bookshelf shows the book and the last page number read, but when I try to open it, a message pops up stating that the item does not exist on this computer. Is there some way to get the book back with my notes and highlights intact??
