Help with password or ID with Adobe Digital Editions

I have forgotten either my Adobe ID or my password, since today I wasn't able to access any of over my 100 book s in my Kobo Ereader. I tried changing my password but that didn't help as the books were downloaded  with that previous password. What can I do? I don't want to lose the 100 plus books on the EReader or  be forced to read the books on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
