Horizon CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED

I have borrowed a couple of ebooks from my public library, http://ohioebooks.com/F628A986-55D6-4175-9CEA-D60DA07E1B86/10/50/en/Default.htm, they tell me that I can transfer them to my Sony PRS-950 wi-fi eReader, using Adobe Digital Editions.  I have installed a copy of ACE, I have authorized it on my computer, and have attempted to copy the books over to my eReader.  I get the error message Horizon CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED.  No permission to copy the book.

Why not?  What do I have to do in order to get permission to copy this book if the library says I have permission, but Adobe says I do not?

I did everything the instructions (the library's and yours) told me to do, as far as I can tell.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0.

One curious one is that they won't work with library books in conjuction with most Sony ereaders.

For that reason, I use 1.7.2.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.

(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.

It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.

Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
