How can I access notes and higlights in a book that is expired?

Hi there,

I recently borrowed a book in which I highlighted and did notes/comments quite extensively. Now the book has expired, and I borrowed it again from an online library to which I have access through my university. But instead of unlocking the book with all the notes and highlights I now have a new version of the same book in my library. Is there a way to unlock the version of the book which has all of my notes and comments in it? I really hope someone can help!
