How can I return back after clicking on a hyperlink in an epub in Digital Editions?

If I have a hyperlink in an epub, I can click on it and Digital Editions will jump to the target page. However, I can find no "back" button, or equivalent. How can I get back to where I was?  I am currently setting a bookmark before clicking on a hyperlink, but this is not a good solution.

The best anyone can do with regard to ADE functionality is hope that something better comes along. Adobe won't bother to make it functional until publishers abandon them. We can but hope they will.

Adobe DRM is, like most Adobe products, extortionately expensive. They can charge publishers a fortune, and their customers will have to use ADE however bad and buggy it is.

Here are the costs for each publisher: Initial software license fee: $10,000; Annual maintenance: $1,500; Development and deployment: $5,000-$10,000; Cost per e-book download: $0.22 (source: https://www.editionguard.com/learn/what-is-adobe-drm/)

So why would they bother fixing a product they distribute for free, when its functionality doesn't affect their profits at all?

You can use Sony Reader; free download from Sony intended to run with Sony eReaders but works quite happily without.  https://ebookstore.sony.com/download/

It has a History tab similar to the bookmarks, though not all that conveniently arranged
