How did I get Adobe Reader DC? I had the free Adobe Reader and now I seem to have the DC version, which has a cost and I don't recall changing?

How did I get Adobe Reader DC?  I had the free Adobe Reader and now I seem to have the DC version, which  has a cost and I don't recall changing?  Why can't I find a telephone number to talk to Adobe directly?
