How do I fix this error on this crappy product: Activation Server error code: E_ACT_NOT-READY

Adobe Digital Editions is an embarrassing joke of a product. I’m surprised Adobe even has it because it must make customers hate Adobe more than Adobe saves on not improving it. Aside from the amateurish 1990s appearance and interface, it barely works. It crashes all the time and I have to reinstall it and redownload my books. Making it the only application to read proprietary DRM and forcing universities to use it is nothing more than a scam. On top of putting out a crap product they don't offer support and instead have a support community. And how about a decent annotation function like any other ebook reader?
