How do I reset the Adobe Digital Editions password

I am trying to deauthorise my ADE account used to access some old books but it says my password is wrong.

Adobe support says log in to accounts.adobe.com with the credentials and reset. But this does not work. It looks like the ADE account that uses the same email is different.

Can anyone help please? I cannot find the answer on the Adobe support pages.
