How to fix error activation limit exceeded when I haven't added anything new?

I'm trying to transfer library books to my ereader and Adobe says I've exceeded my activation limit but I haven't added any new equipment - how do I fix this?

    yes, i didn't realize there was  a limit but apparently I've exceeded it??
