I am trying to unauthorize my computer and then re authorize but the existing will not accept my password not withstanding the password works to open my account.

I am trying to transfer library books from Overdrive to ADE.to no avail. I would like to try to unauthorize my computer then re authorize but the system will not accept my password which works fine to open my account. What steps can I take to correct the issue?
