I can't delete an old authorization under id rowinsky9634@roadrunner.com so that I can use my current adobe id. Can anyone help?

Adobe digital editions on my mac will not allow downloads.  when I try to delete the old id, I get a message to wait until later.  Maybe I should have deleted the authorization before I changed my adobe ID and password.  Now I don't have any idea how to fix it.
