I cannot access my purchased books in Adobe Digital Editions

I have three purchased books in Adobe Digital Editions, and they show up in the library, however I cannot access them, as each time I click on any of the three purchased books, I get a message saying "the original document file is missing". I have previously been able to open the books and read them. I really need them for my bachelor project, so kindly help me out asap.
