I downloaded an e-reader (overdrive) to my android tablet - how can I authorize without losing books I already have?

It seems that I have to de-authorize and then authorize my DE account and I 'm warned I'll lose my books. How can I make this work and keep the book I've bought and see them on my tablet? I need them for a course.
