I have bought a eBook protected by Adobe DRM which will not open

I get the following error:

Unable to download

Error getting License, License Server Communications Problem:
E_ADAPT_DOCUMENT_OPEN_ERROR

This does not seem specific to DE. I get a similar error in a book reader that supports Adobe DRM, but a problem with Adodes DRM system....
