I want to create a time-limited Adobe Digital Edition file like Libraries for book loan

I have a library of books my students use online. I want to be able to generate Adobe Digital edition files that the students can download, which have a time limit, say 21 days, after which the file expires.

I have made a half dozen calls, but Adobe seems to have no idea of how to do this. 

Anyone here can help?

There are a million pieces about reading the files, but none about creating them.
