Incompatibility between ADE 4.5 and Apple OS Monterey 12.1

I have a new MacBook Air 2020 with M1 chip. I installed ADE 4.5.11 Macintosh. Then I downloaded some books from my Library (Nova Scotia, Canada), but ADE doesn't recognize  them. This particular book was in ACSM format; often thy are ePub.

The notice that pops up says: Unable to Download: Error getting license, License Server Communication Problem. E_ACT_NOT_READY.

Please help me figure out what to do. Thank you.
