infinite activation of epub without end

Hello

I have purchased several ebooks in epagine.fr

All of them except one have been uploaded without issue in ADE.

The acsm file initiates correctly the creation of the epub. The epub has apparently a consistent date, type and size.

But the process never ends and cannot be cancelled

At the end, I had to kill the process and the epub cannot be opened.

I've tried may times with and without removing the previous files, with Windows restart, with ADE uninstall and fresh install: no success so far...

Epagine is looking at it but they seem clueless on the issue...

All details below

  • Book not present in library
  • epub file deleted
  • only acsm file present
  • ADE version is not obsolete: 4.5.7.18262
  • Adobe ID is correctly linked to my email address and consistent with epagine ID

When I double-clicked on the acsm file, an epub starts to be created

... but the process never ends

    I managed to find a solution to avoid the issue:

    1. remove authorization for my PC
    2. uninstall ADE 4.5
    3. remove manually the adept folders in the registry (mandatory - first try was a failure, as I didn't do it)
      Error "E_ADEPT_INTERNAL" | Download protected e-book | Digital Editions
    4. installe ADE 3.0
    5. authorize my PC
    6. activate the acsm file

    Not a perfect solution, as it is still non readable by ADE 4.5 (same infinite loop when opening activated epub)

    Anyway, I could read it on my PC with ADE 3.0 and transfer it on my Kobo reader without any issue

    Closed Digital Edition.

    Rename My Digital Edition Folder under you Dokument.

    Start Digital Edition.

    Try to open the eBook again.
