iPad iOS 17 suddenly quits

I have had Digital Editions for 4 years but recently the pages are blurry and then it suddently quits.

1. I have deleted the app and reinstalled several times.
2. I upgraded to iOS 17 with no results.
3. I have Digital Editions synced with my laptop so I download from the school library first to my laptop (which works fine with Digital Editions) and then I open Digital editions on my iPad.

Any suggestions how to remedy this problem with my iPad?
