Question

Is Digital Editions the single worst piece of software ever?

For about the third random time, I can't read a library book on my Kobo - apparently because I 'previously deauthorized' it (I didn't).

The annoying fixes I tried last time (deauthorizing everything, removing all the files, factory reset on the device, reinstalling ADE, reauthorizing etc) won't even work now, because the latest version of ADE simply does not work at all on my laptop - the application just does nothing when started.

Any ideas? In despair. I just want to read a book.

Managed to get an older version (4.0) of ADE to actually start up, but still getting a DRM error ('you previously deauthorized your eReader - I didn't, and it has just been factory reset) - 'you need to re-import the book using Adobe Digital Editions' - this doesn't change anything.
