Is there an alternative to Digital Editions?

Since it doesn't work very well, Adobe 'support' can't deal with it, and no one answers questions on the forum.

I called support and they said they couldn't help and I should go to the forums.

It's been almost a month since I posted, no responses.

I checked other problems posted to the ADE forum and nearly all are not addressed in any way.
