Kindle not showing up on ADE

I just got ADE in order to get library books for  my Kindle. I can't open ACSM files (which the library books download as) in Calibre so I got ADE but my Kindle isn't showing up as a device. I tried to contact the Adobe chat help but they won't answer my question and said an expert WILL help me here so hopefully someone else knows what's up. I see that none of the times folks have asked about Kindle have been answered.
