kobo and adobe digital editions 3.0

Hi

Does anyone at adobe or out there know why adobe digital editions has not been authenticated since Feb. 2017? Is there a virus on it?

I am trying to get a public library book onto a earlier version of kobo and it will not work with the new adobe version. I am told by kobo that you need 3.0 in order for the kobo to work:(

They tell me that adobe has an issue not them.

Is there anyone who can help? I do not want to download a virus onto the computer.
