Kobo Arc Not Recognized

I JUST bought my Kobo Arc and am trying to figure out how to get my books (in epub format located on calibre) onto my device. I can authorize my computer just fine, however, with my Kobo plugged in (indicated that it is charging) Adobe can't pick it up. I am running Mac IOS 10.6.8
