Lag in Accessing Ebook File

I've been reading a 390-page e-book but it's been taking 2-3 seconds to flip through each page of it. This lag is not apparent on my other e-books, since I'm able to scroll through the pages effortlessly. Are there any solutions or setting options available to make the scrolling faster for the book that I'm using? Thanks.
