Library Book Sync

Using Macbook Pro- 10.11.6; ADE v 4.5.2.  Have downloaded 2 books from local library including ACSM files.Used ADE to transfer to new Kobo Aura. Their icons appear on Kobo marked "finished" though loan has not yet expired. Any attempt to open displays only the cover page. . A page turn returns to home screen. Not even sure if volumes are actually on the Kobo.  Any ideas?
