loading ADE

I have been having issues loading ADE both on my laptop at home and my desktop at my office.  When I try to open ADE the "loading library" notification comes up but will not open.  Possible too many books in the library? Anyone have any suggestions? I have uninstalled 4.5 and reinstalled itwithout luck
