Migrating

I have LR5.7 installed on my Mac desktop. All of the files (library, catalogue, photos) are on a Western Digital external hard drive. I back this up regularly, but want to replace the Western Digital drive with a drive that has greater storage capacity. What is the safest and most efficient way to do this? Thanks!
