Move pdf with highlights to another device?

I've opened a PDF in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3 and highlighted it in various locations. I want to copy this file to another device (PC, android phone, it really shouldn't matter) and view the document with the highlighting intact. There is no DRM in place on this file. Is this possible without some XML work coming into play?
