My ebook fails to open

I downloaded an ebook from my local library with Digital Edition. I transferred it to my Qware ereader where I can see it. But it fails to open. It's an epub file. In my manual it says that my ereader supports oa EPUD. Isn't this the same as EPUB? What can I do?
