My mac and adobe digital editions

On my mac, running current OS X, i cannot download epubs to my ADE, but I CAN open them directly from

my hard drive and read them. Why can I not download them to the ADE. I download them, go to my downloads

and double click the downloaded version. They do not go into the ADE. Why?

Could you be a little more specific, please. The default program where? How can I check that? (I looked in

ADE an there's nothing there, nor could I see that in the Mac preferences.

In your operationg system set default program for every file format. How you can make it in your mac should found in the mac-help.
