My new digital editions won't read ACSM files - HELP

My Digital Editions which was recommended to me by the e-book I downloaded.  Won't read that ebook.  It says it does not support ACSM format.  Isn't that Adobe?

    What is the error message you get when you try to open the ACSM file in Adobe Digital Editions?

    Which version of Adobe Digital Editions are you using? What platform are you on (Windows or Mac)?
