My Nook HD+ isn't Showing on my ADE

I am having trouble with Adobe Digital Editions recognizing my nook HD+.  My PC says it is there but ADE doesn't. I authorize my nook HD+ but still can't find it on my Nook. I can not load ADE directly onto my nook HD+, my nook does not even show up on the left hand side of the page on ADE.
