My supported device doesn't automatically get recognized by adobe

Hello.

I've noticed on another thread that a list of supported devices for adobe digital editions exists, of which my Sony PRS-T1 is there.  I have followed all other advice as far as registering my sony device with my adobe ID, even launching its native software and signing into adobe, with no positive effects on being able to use this awesome public resource (libraries, books).  I bought this e-reader specifically because it reads e-pub and other public formats.   Can I be helped?
