MyiLibrary. E-book will not download.

I have tried in vain to download an e-book from MyiLibrary that needs to be opened in Adobe Digital Editions.

Each time I click to download the set-up for Digital Editions initialises and all that happens is that the programme then opens with out my book being downloaded.

I have tried re-installing, locating the .acsm file on chrome and even installing the old edition of the programme.

I am using the windows 8 os, PLEASE HELP.
How can i get the program to download the book I desperately need?
