no auto read aloud function

Hi,

I recently was forced to download Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 by my university so I could access the course material. In using the product, and in looking on message boards, it appears as though there is no read aloud function. This is so disappointing and maddening. I am taking school part-time, work full-time and have a young family. I used the read aloud function offered by another product so I could get some exercise in while also staying on top of my reading. My iphone will not read the book either - it just reads the page number.

 If anybody has any suggestions on what to do, I would greatly appreciate it.
