Nook Glowlight 4 Plus not detected by ADE

I followed the steps to sideload ePUBS from my local libraries to my Nook via Adobe Digital Editions. The app is authorized and the eBook shows up fine. However, when I plug my Nook into my computer, my computer recognizes the device but ADE does not. I've tried restarting, downloading an older version of ADE, and still the Nook device does not show up on the sidebar. 

 

Any help appreciated.

Despite what the manual says, you can't get ADE to see the Nook 4 Plus. It isn't hard to sideload though. It took me a bit to figure out how to do it, though. Once you have downloaded your acsm file (what actually gets downloaded to the computer before ADE authorizes the epub file) open ADE. The book should show up. Next right click on the book and choose "Open in Explorer". You will see the epub file there. Copy and paste it into your Nook folder on the device.

Thank you for posting this comment.  I bought my Glowlight 4 Plus two weeks ago and have been trying to figure this out.  I talked to 3 different customer service reps at B&N and they weren't any help.  I went into a B&N store today - no one could help me.  I finally came across your comment today and it finally worked!!  Thank you!!

I got it fixed but honestly don't remember how. I think I uninstalled,
reinstalled ADE, re registered my ADE account, restarted the nook and the
computer-- In short, I did all the things and eventually it worked. Best of
luck to you.
