Nook not showing up in devices on ADE

I've downloaded ADE onto my computer, authorized it, downloaded a book,  but when I try to sync it to my Nook it is not listed under devices. There isn't even a devices area listed, just library. I've tried syncing a bunch of times. Even deleting ADE from the Nook as instructed. Am not having any luck. Suggestions before I have resort to a factory reset?
