NOOK permission denied on new laptop

Sometimes, I use my NOOK to read library books. I never had problems on my old laptop, but on my new laptop (Windows 7), I cannot transfer books to my NOOK.  It states "no permission to copy this book."  I see one has to wait a day for this default to change.  Will I get this error everytime I borrow a library book?
