Question

Not able to authorize a second installation of ADE with my Adobe ID

System :

partition 1 with xp prof and (working) ADE  COMPUTER NAME ZETA

partition 2 with w7 prof and ADE not authorizabel COMPUTER NAME ZETA

I did this for a slow migration from the old XP to W7

Everything worked fine until I tried as the last step to migrate my books to the "new" partition.

Whenever I try to authorize the w7  ADE I`m getting the following message:

You cannot authorize this computer with an ADOBE ID, which has been previous used for authorizing other computers or moblie devices.

Thanks in advance

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.

Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.

Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.

A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.

This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).

Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
