O How can I download the book I downloaded on to my Kobo when the top line is missing?

I checked that Adobe Digital Editions is installed correctly.  But when I plug in my Kobo and open it I do not see the top line on the left.  No word Library, no 3 books.  At the top left I see a picture of the book I downloaded and under it Devices and Kobo.  When I drag my book over the picture it jumps back and will not load on my Kobo.  I tried dragging it over the work Kobo and the same thing happens.


How can this be corrected??

    Check to make sure the connection has been made to the computer. I encountered the same problem and discovered that for some reason the computer had not recognised the connection.
