Only part of the pages are visible, what can I do?

I can only see part of the pages. Trying to scroll down it jumps to the next page that also only shows partly. Have tried everything in the menu. Updated the program, restarted my computer etc.

It is like 1/4 page is on the screen and the rest of the page is "outside the screen" .

Another problem is that many, many words have "-" where it is not necessary. For example:  He went down-stairs, Let´s go out-side, I eat app-le.

Also there are a lot of blank pages in between, sometimes two or three after another.
